Recurring 2a87

I have an 07 e90 335i with about 119k miles and as of lately I have been experiencing 2a87 exhaust vanos mechanism. I have already replaced both vanos solenoids and the code still pops up even when I am not on it. I am fearing the worst and think it could be my cam ledge bearings. I am not mechanically inclined to do this job myself so I will be taking it to a local BMW indy shop. My question is, once they are in there to do this job, is there anything else to look at or replace while they are there (like replacing oil pan gasket while turbos are out)?

I kept throwing 2a87 despite all of the recommendations mentioned in this thread. I bit the bullet and replaced the exhaust cam ledge and the problem was fixed.

If it's persistent after vanos solenoids.. y'know what to do.

Ahh its 6 years later an another bmw n54 finds its way to tha same problem @RNM could you post the part number if you have it? unless im mistaken its the whole tray for the camshaft that needs replacing "legde bearings" good one bmw
