Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to give a quick intro for my shop, and one of the products that we have been developing.
Im Peter @performanceboutique, in Ottawa ON. Were a shop of euro enthusiasts with many different backgrounds. This year is a huge step for us in the performance world as we get ready to introduce a few products, for the BMW platform, onto the market. More on that later...

With the development of the N54 platform, many strides have been made moving this platform forward. As we start to turn up the boost, the weak parts of this engine start to show their flaws. Top mount turbos creating enough heat to melt the plastic valve cover, and general cleanliness in the engine bay. We at PB decided to make an aluminum valve cover. We start by 3D scanning the original valve cover, to ensure we get the dimensions perfect. This is essential to making sure you can still use the OEM gasket and have inside clearances, while adding to the cleanliness of your engine bay. The 6061 block of aluminum is then precision CNC cut to match the exact dimensions in the program. With the addition of AN fittings you will be able to mount an aftermarket oil catch can.

As you can see from the pictures the valve cover will have some more curves, and include a plate to go over top of the injectors and coil packs. The valve cover can have custom writing on it or come bare. We are also entertaining the option of making a carbon fibre cover for those interested.
We are located north of the border in Canada, and as so will be providing pricing in Cad. Pricing will be very competitive, especially for the initial batch. More details on that to come.

Too bad you guys almost exclusively seem to focus only on the N54 platform.

You guys should try expanding your horizons a bit and do something for us N55 platform guys.

Oh well, what do I know, lol.

What kind of price are you shooting for?

We are just finalizing a few things, shooting to have a price and a test piece for the first half of July

If there is enough interest, I will gladly make one.

Interested to see how much this weighs

should be under 15lbs

Love this
Thanks!

Can't believe I never heard of you guys before. Up until September my office was 2 buildings down (the same building as Whiprsnapr). We're just a few km up Baseline now near the hospital.

My car is in the shop right now getting new turbo's and suspension installed. I would have definitely come and checked you guys out first if I had known. I'll have to pay a visit when I get my car back.

Not yet. I would like to do the upcoming BMW Club HPDE though. I guess you are a few doors down from Oiltrell? I have a couple of army helmets in with Greg right now getting painted gloss black. That is my "other" current build; the ultimate beer helmet for Redblacks games! I'm using self-leveling RAM cup holders so when I get tipsy I don't spill my beer!

Thread highjack and not that its any of my business but I highly recommend Perfomance Boutique, I have yet to encounter one unsatisfied customer. Peter is currently doing a lot of interesting stuff for us guys up here north of the border. Here is my shameless plug of my car on the operating table getting fitted for a Performance Boutique FMIC.

I like the stage 1,2,3 idea and then 3+ could be used for the single turbo guys. You could also base the stages on horsepower being that there is so much info out there for what you need to reach that horsepower

I think you're in the wrong thread man

Im not sure what stages you're referring to...
Depending on the price, this should be competitive with the other 2 billet covers being designed. Hopefully everyone will finish soon so we can compare!

I think it will be interesting to see the final products from all of us. I dont wanna junp on the pricing train too quick ;)
