Well, it looks like the coil part of the equation has been largely resolved with the advent of PR and Bimmer Life coil kits.
Indeed, currently looking into getting a set for my personal N54. I've been waiting for more feedback over time since they released but, from what I've seen its a solid purchase.
The debate now is which path to choose. PR or BimmerLifeTuning
I just got my BimmerlifeTuning coils this weekend. Im installing them tomorrow.
Alex with BL has said theyve tested them up to .031, but recommend. 026 for longevity. Is anyone going to update this thread with the new smart coils? And recommended plugs gap?

So i installed them, opened the gaps to .026. Took about 30min. Could be done in 5 if you dont mess with gaps. Went to gas station and filled with e60, changed the tune, reset a couple adaptations, and went for a ride. No misfires, no timing corrections except post shift (6at), afrs seem normal at about 12.3-4 ish. Cant tell if i feel power gains or not cause im focusing on too much other crap, but im glad i dont have any misfires (yet) because this map use to give me some high rpm misfires. Probably pulls a little harder. Definitely not less. I have no baseline dyno, but ill be able to tell if it took any time off my 1/4 et. That is if i get back to the track this season. Anyway, not a bad deal, looks badass, solves some issues. Oh and engine cover doesnt fit very well..... lolLet us know how it goes please.

I really didn't mess with it much. Probably just move the harness a little bit ans it will go in nicelyGood deal other than the engine cover. Surprised it doesn't fit well. Thought there would be a problem with the PR's but figured the BL's would have no issue with the cover.

anyone ? Any truth to this ?? If so, why would there be an issue using 2 step colder ?Is it true that smart coils don't work well with 2 step colder plugs?
I just got the m4 plugs NGK97506. Going to run it with Delphi coils.
Cool! Instant results, that's awesome. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has issues with putting the cover on.
I have BL coils and my cover fit fine. Although I had to grind out a notch for my second HPFP line.

I second the eldor coil recommendation. Bosch coils would fail one by one every other month it seemed. Did a third gear pull and 3 misfires were reported by the dme. Im 25 psi 6266 methanol injected. Ngk 95770 gapped to .018. Misfires were also common when pushing enough so meth would flow and rapidly getting off of the gas. Now that i fit eldors there are no more misfires.
