Hey y’all
New here and to forums in general but I’ve got one I can’t quite figure out and I wanted to try here for some possible help! I searched through the forums and couldn’t find anyone with quite this problem, so my apologies if someone found the solution.

I have an 07 335i coupe, 157k miles, have only driven the car maybe 500 miles total since purchasing it. It’s a project that I had working and was using as my daily until it broke down.
After I had gotten it running and driving, it would go into limp mode when I got on the throttle. Turn the car off and back on and it was fine again, but would do it again almost every time.

It broke down on me after start up pulling out of my parking spot. Engine sort of surged and died. Turned it on again and it went straight into limp mode, gave me the exclamation (!) warning, and I had an immediate surging/bouncing idle, around 800-1200 RPMS.
Towed it home and it’s still doing the same thing and it sounds like maybe the water pump kicks on and stays on even after I pull the key out.
I have read the codes on my autel and on INPA (I don’t currently have ISTA, but I will be acquiring and installing it this week).

Attached is the codes. The codes show camshaft position sensor issues for both banks, those have both been replaced now, my next step was both vanos solenoids, and I don’t want to go much further spending money on parts I don’t need to replace yet.

ISTA may help me figure when I download it, but I’m exhausting all options.

Thank you!!

Hunter

BSD is the comms network to engine ancillaries and the battery.

Check for corrosion or water in the DME electrical conector. You also have an error for low fuel pressure sensor so check the fuel pressure is good when idling, if not fix that first.

Check ground straps between the engine and chassis.
