so i hit the jackpot owning an N54 and B58 Car? ... Awesome.
Avoiding B58 ppl now. But the car is awesome.
Stock 8HP vs DCT i would choose the DCT all day long.
I thought the N54 community was good until I joined one of the Facebook groups. The entire group is people with beat-up poorly maintained cars with single turbo kits wondering why their engine is making a funny noise and asking how to make flames.
I think social media is a bit of a cess pool in general though so it's not purely an N54 thing, I'm guessing the N55 and B58 groups have the same kind of crap.

I had to get rid of my e91 330d and somehow needed a daily really fast.. so i told myself i need a B58.. But i just ended up with a late 2018 M140. I think i will save money and not stay with that car. Goal is a M340 now.

It is not surprising. How many platforms can you get in for small money and with under a grand in parts make 400-500 WHP? You can go FBO in under a weekend and add 150whp. The platform is attractive for many reasons; it is a BMW not some rice rocket, you can get an AWD 6MT TT 3.0, make power on the cheap, and it is semi luxurious. Most 'non car people' just think any BMW is a lot classier than Subi, Honda, Mitsubishi, etc...which they are right about.
Its all fun and games until their injectors cost more than their turbo kit

It's something we've worked to try and preserve. It can be a tough balance between moderating and trying to keep freedom of expression and opinion. There are other forums that have that challenge as well.
