MOSFET problems

Totally MOSFET failure. The ones linked up top are a cost effective choice that's better than stock. Do all 6, not just the bad one. Any electronics place with an air rework station can do it, don't let anyone use an iron on your DME (except to reflow the contacts before putting the new chips on). You can do it yourself if you want, it's not that hard just takes patience.

All else fails, upgrade to msd81. But imo worth saving some time and $$ by fixing first, unless you just want to be rid of the thought of msd80.

Mosfets will hopefully be in tomorrow and a local phone repair shop reached out to me after posting on a FB car forum for help. Said will be less than 100$ all depends on pita level of work. So hopefully no injectors are fried and just coils and maybe a plug. Wish me luck. Was going to try this myself with a soldering iron but don’t want to chance it.

Mosfets are replaced, fuel injectors are fine, coil packs are fine. One pesky little spark plug is bad though. Fml. I’ll get to that in the morning I guess

Ok. I was wrong. Shits still going wrong. Changed spark plug and still issue in same cylinder. Looks like injector #2 is bad to me. Disconnecting electrical connection does not change how car runs on cylinder 2, also same with coils. I have swapped coils and changed and swapped plugs. It’s def cylinder 2 problem and nothing fixes it. Is it time to order injectors?

I’ve gotten the DME repaired and appreciate you letting me know anyhow. Now it looks like it’s a fuel injector issue. Somehow I’ve gotten lucky enough that someone is sending me some of their leftovers to get my baby running again.

Swap the injector, recode, and see if the issue moves cylinders.

I have Wednesday off and I’ll try that. I’ll also have the other injectors on Wednesday also. I’ll try swapping and recoding while I’m waiting for them to arrive. NoQuarter is sending me his that he had laying around. Is there a chance it is still mosfet/DME related? I’m not getting any codes anymore. Just banks being way off on lambdas and such on inpa

2 injectors, 1 coil and I need all new plugs. Plugs are just because they have 30k on them though. Really I need a full tune up. And front brakes. And rear. And rotors for both. And some bulbs. Chargepipe and BOV, intercooler, DP, lol.

Lol reddit! I used INPA to program the injectors

Replace mofsets as preventative maintenance. The new chips will last you more than that oem ones. I used a regular soldering iron, nothing fancy, just put some solder to remove the old chips. Easy.

I wanted to try it but too much to risk with not enough reward. Needed my car for work and such
