Only reason I did that is that we don’t know if another module isn’t changing/substituting that packet. The only way to guarantee that is to do the read at the TCU. You’re right that it could be at the DSC as well.
Hmmm... it says “processed wheel speed” not just wheel speed.
They are apparently in talks with xHP about sharing the method so hopefully we could see something develop soon. I suspect xHP's motivation is to target the F80 DCT rather than the E chassis cars, so hopefully that will trickle down to everyone at some point.
Hi all
I am informed that maxxecu will not be supporting the F80DCT - E series only. Apparently the canbus protocol is quite different etc etc. I am sure they have put in a massive amount of work just getting the E series perfected and heading down the F series road is not something they may have time for.
I don't see much of solution (from big brands either) whom are able to flash DKG via obd. Some are offering bench fleshing thou. Any idea what the limitation is?
These guys perhaps: https://www.magicmotorsport.com/shop/product/tcu-manager/Can you say who? Chances are I know who they are or they are lying.
Well, its advertised as automatic checksum calculation, and obviously listed as clone/restore to be the least.@MAGICMOTORSPORT is a member here but they never confirm if they can flash a custom bin.

Yeh, I get the point. I may just end up having it on my benchFind someone who will answer the question specifically. I don't think anyone has received any fork of confirmation. Besides the maxxecu would be a better deal at that price.
That doesn't surprise me based on my conversations with @N.Ceder as they are very busy. Hopefully xHP will come through with something for the F80 crowd. I'm curious how much difference there is in the TCU and connections? I know the F80 has Flexray but I don't know what kind of physical differences there are in wiring/connectors etc.
There is also HTG Tuning, they have a standalone controller for the DCT. It works similar to DKGECU, by removing BMW TCU and replacing with their own unit.I have an F80 DCT box waiting to install into the E30, but at present, Nisse (AKA Mr DKG ECU) is the only one I know of that can support the F80. But the DKGECU totally bypasses the DCT TCU (as far as I know...) and that would be a problem for some.
I don't know if one can swap the TCU from an E series into an F?

As for the F-series DCT's in general, the FlexRay hasn't got anything to do with the PTCAN-communication, but instead of CAN+LIN there is dual-CAN on the F-series DCT. Addresses are completely different at least, and of course all other bus traffic that is needed, because of different type of modules in the newer chassis (FEM vs JBBF/FRM etcetc). Control strategy should be similar to the E-series though...
