I thought the MT 335is used a 3.08, the DCT uses a 2.56.

I would think a 2.56 or similar would be ideal with the higher power levels we are making now, especially for highway pulls and those pesky GTR's

I appear to be the outlier who somehow gets the faulty aftermarket parts. But I had a well documented failure with my MFactory
LSD earlier this year. It wound up being a recall due to poor quality bolts used inside of the diff from MFactory. They paid for my replacement unit but not the $700 in labor :-(

Even such, she's been back on the road for the rest of this year and absolutely love having this LSD in.

I opted to do the m3 diff swap it was straight forward the only modification that needed to be done is the drive shaft. You will need to measure and find a shop who will shorten or maybe lengthen depending on your vehicle. I'm also breaking in the Motiv twin disk so really can't get on it until broken in.
The combo of 305s nto1s out back with the m3 lsd feels wonderful though, we'll see how traction holds up once the clutch is broken in but already she doesn't spin where my 275s did.

I just installed my MFactory LSD for Automatic...still on jack stands at the moment. It replaces my stock open differential. Here is the difference: Stock on jack stands in any gear - you can hear noise in the open diff.
MFactory LSD on jack stands in any gear - you hear absolutely nothing, and if you feel the LSD while it is in gear (not recommended unless you have a lift) you feel nothing. Tonight I will do transmission adaptations procedure and see if it makes noise in low gear when letting off the gas pedal.

I am initially impressed so far. I will update after I put it through the paces.

Have you checked fluid level? Never mind I misread.

Just did a short drive to the gas station to fill up the tank for tomorrow evening's transmission adaptation driving reset procedure. The LSD is rock solid, no noises whatsoever. The Propulsive Dynamics Upgraded transmission shifts solid, but needs to be relearned for the shifts to operate smoother. I thank the gods that this unit is working and shifts gears without any errors like the previous old stock unit... Now time to throw the kitchen sink at this thing and see how it takes on aggressive tuning.

Wish me luck.

I can't imagine taller gearing with an automatic and a single turbo. First gear would be too sluggish off the line I think.

I am, I'm just saying that if I had done the M3 rear diff instead of the MFactory, I think it would be a bad experience with the ratio mentioned by @camberadam. For manual people, a 3.15 might be an improvement off the line.
You are correct a slight improvement from the 3.08 but since you are auto, you could have gone 3.85(M3 mt) doesn't the auto come with 3.45 on the 335?

I'm not sure what gears are available for the M3, but the 335 6at is 3.46 I believe.

I have recently installed a Wavetrac in my 135i and I am very pleased with it.

The Wavetrac has an advantage in no load situations where regular helical LSD's would struggle to transfer torque at all. Some would argue for street applications you would not see this as wheels rarely leave the ground, however near zero load transitions during deceleration (coming off the throttle) are very common and it is when the Wavetrac will be of benefit during spirited street applications.

For anyone considering a wavetrac, turn around time is no longer an issue, see the vendor section :).

Confirmed; nothing earth shattering, but improved IMO. Butt dyno feels spool up is less delayed; a little more linear throttle feeling.
