So u are the "kid" stirring up shit on F.B. !
As i read it, the first question, all you had to answer is YES.
End of story.
Instigator 🙄
I stirred up so much stupid I thought I was in a parallel universe full of stupid. I understand how back when I was in my 20s people saying stupid things because they are just guessing about things and arguing over car stuff because of ignorance. These kids can look up actual facts instantly about how shit works and what shit does..... but no.... they guess and pull shit out their ass and it makes sense because it hurts their head too much to science. They all flock together like flying monkeys on a pile of monkey poo and start flinging it.

Funny thing too is also telling the e46 kkds that running cai on naturally aspirated engines directly in the engine bay causes power loss.

I hear ya ! That's why I won't fuck with F.B. or insta, etc. Too many Ian's on there bragging about 10sec 1/4 mile with leaky injectors, blown motors, lifting heads, and not listening to people who have actual knowledge 😂

And CAI should be routed to the lower part of rear bumper IMO. cooler air, less turbulence, = MòPower.

reminds me the time Ive done a thermodynamic calc for my friend na miata 1.6L with a turbo upgrade.
He really wanted to run no intercooler, which was feasible.

I dont recall my calcs (school years are far away), but he was able to keep this under 110-120°F depending of extT° around 6psi.
So he ran 5psi to be on the safe side.
And October cold run on 1/4 mile track around 8psi to see the time he can make. I dont recall the trap speed, but he ran a 12-mid, which was impressive in 2008.

High boost levels like n54 I cant imagine running no IC, might be possible with a solid meth or port injection with lower boost level, but i dont see the benefit.

23psi here, single, 5'' IC and I never go over 85°F, and when the meth kicks (600cc) it drops in a 10°F range .not bad.

That's next on my list!

I love reading the youtube comments. So many people believe fake news about these inlets...
I like the intake gizmos with the electric vortex turbine fans inside that super speed and streamline the air. So legit.

Or from days long ago.... the fuel line magnets that arrange the fuel molecules for more power and economy.
