Whats done to the 6hp28? My friend just blew his 3rd gear on 19ts on his 2009 535xi. I'm pretty sure that car comes standard with the 6hp28. I was begging him to change his fluid seems like its to late for that now.
Mileage of trans ? Power level (torque) ? Any trans flash , alpina, xHP, etc ?
What exactly happened ? Sometimes people think blown trans and its the VB that causes the issue.

132k on the trans ,xhp stage 3 ,original fluid as far as I know. 18psi on 19ts probably like 550 torque not really sure. He called me said it won't go into 3rd anymore after a hard pull. And now its stuck in second gear he said

Sounds similar to what mine did. But mine was partly my own doing. I didn't get the cooler adapter pushed all the way in and it blew out. Pissed fluid for a few hundred feet before I could pull over and look. Had to drive under a mile back home on I really don't know how low fluid.
All I know is I filled back up, just didn't seems to take as much as I'd seen on the ground. And ever since it wouldn't shift correct under power. Did a few resets/relearns to no avail. Dropped the pan and it was full of brass, bushings F'd.
Drop and replace. Don't F with anything else when it starts to act up. $500 for a trans that's bound to work just fine.

Probably a similar situation with him. He is considering a manual swap at this point.

Thank you, we are happy to be apart of the Spool Street family! The response on social media has been overwhelmingly positive. There will be weekly updates with progress through the testing and production phase. We are pushing hard to be ready for testing after the Holiday season.
all of us 6hp21 owners have been praying for this.. I'm on transmission #2 and servicing it every 40k

My first transmission went 2 days after I purchased. Due to the state of VA lemon laws, I was able to get a 'new' replacement. Now I'm paranoid and servicing every 40k ..

Quick Spool Street only Update!

The car ran under its own power on the 24th, moved on stock tune... obviously wouldnt shift right etc but mechanically the adapter seems to be flawless. We are currently working on tuning. Will make an official update soon with details when more time is available. The work is being put in around the clock by multiple devoted parties and things are progressing!

Another quick Spool Street only Update!

Car runs perfect, and I have a few hours of street time on it... the future is looking VERY bright. It works beautifully, the tune xHP provided is on point and essentially you would have no clue another transmission is even in the vehicle. We are working on custom tunes as well and exploring avenues for supporting 135i 535i and other N54/N55 platforms in the future.

Proper video and official update is in the works for early February.

Spool Street only Update

Car has been down since Monday afternoon due to a main fuel feed line leak that I was unable to safely fix nor wanted to risk messing with. I am not going to name the company who made the fuel feed line as I am not here to throw people under the bus. What I will say though is, NEVER buy any pushlock style fuel lines. Had I known what I know now ~2 years ago when I installed it I never would have bought it... but hindsight is always 20/20. The pushlock style connections keep swelling and allowing fuel to seep past the fitting. I ordered PTFE E85 rated braided hose and fittings to fabricate my own fuel line; at the same time I am adding a 6 Micron 3" inline fuel filter and removing the tiny HPFP filter.

While the car is down I am taking the time to wrap up a plethora of small things with the car that were not a priority until it was road worthy. For those that like details these small things include the following, many are already completed.

Fixing ABS/DSC Code
Fixing Airbag/Seat Code (caused by interior shop)
Replacing Gear Shift Indicator - Waiting for part
Replacing wore out Shifter Knob - Waiting for part
New Fuel Feed Line and 6 Micron Filter - Waiting for supplies
Center Console Wiring Cleanup and Bass Knob Rewiring (Caused by interior shop)
Cigarette Lighter No Power (Caused by interior shop)
Sticky/Broken Sunroof Switches (Caused by interior shop)
Installing new 6k HID Bulbs and Realigning Headlights
Modifying Wheel Liners for better cooler air flow
General Inspection of Suspension/Bolts/Hardware
Coding out E-Diff for Racing Diff LSD Conversion
Coding out Active Headlights
Coding out TPMS

Future Plans/Mods
M3 LCI Conversion - Fenders, Front Bumper, Rear Bumper, Saibon M3 Carbon Hood, Rear Deck/Lights, Possibly New Headlights w/projector/halo setup etc
Port Injection Intake Manifold Setup & add 535 LPFP to go with the current 450 LPFP, retune by Wedge
Custom Trans Tune by Rod Sutphin - Currently being worked on
New Wheel and Tire Setup.... some sticky ickies
Upgraded DS and Axles... currently on stock 140k mile components
Upgraded Valve Body, Torque Converter and likely a built transmission

No doubt I am forgetting a few things! A lot of the issues were caused when the car went in for a full custom leather interior just prior to the 6HP21 transmission failure that prompted the development of this adapter. The interior is beautiful, converted from worn out tan interior to red leather w/diamond stitching, black and carbon fiber accents. Needless to say the people who did the work werent as careful with a lot of the small things as they should have been. For the price though it wasnt worth hassling them and I was confident they wouldnt fix it like I wanted it done.

At the same time all of this is going on tuning solutions for 135i, 535i and E-Shift valve body solutions are being worked on. Even a small amount of R&D for AWD xi adapters is also happening; no huge information on that yet but know its high on my priority list once we iron out RWD platforms. Performance torque converter options are being made as we speak and will end up being installed with some of our early tester kits. A proper update with professional pictures/video for our street/dyno/track testing is also in the works for this month.

As you can see there is a lot going on! I would love to be able to ship some early test kits in March/April and have our first production group buy in April/May. Realistically some of that may be pushed back but we are progressing quickly. We hope everyone is having a great start to 2021... we are busier then ever and pushing hard on making this a reality.

As always thank you everyone for your continued support, dont hesitate to contact us!

Don't rush it and get it right, to many parts have been rushed on this platform.

I cant wait to see some results and we will be getting a kit for our single turbo build we have going on as the customer has been screwed over
by a well known builder, it's in the authorities hands now to take care off.

I might even get one for my 1m motor as I prefer autos over dct, always had better results with torque converters down the strip.

Thank you Marty and youre totally right about that, our part needs to be 100% track proven before we will take $$$ from customers. Many have tried to pay or put deposits down already but thats just not how we operate.

I will say that we have already completed dozens of triple digit test runs in a "controlled" environment and mechanically the adapter seems 100% sound. No odd noises, weird vibrations or anything that would cause concern. So far the car runs and drives as if it had a completely stock transmission.

I have low quality teaser videos for anyone that is interested just PM me and I will send them over.

Yes Martymil, I have certainly been screwed over and have no transmission despite it allegedly been built and ready to install.

At least there is some light at the end of the tunnel with this 26/28 kit. Looking forward to this.
