Your already using MHD so why piggy back the jb4? I think you should get rid of it and do as the other guys are saying. Custom tunes with just MHD. DOC can def get you up in HP.

a lot of people saying that, and yes should be better since you skip a step of communication.

dealing with a local tuner, the guys sees numbers, and he stated the difference are not huge power wise, and how the car drive.

The main issues is the 'single point of failure'' added in the system. More complex, more wires, many options to mess with, etc.

Reason people using it, is because they already had this, and meth. Also user adjustability can be done on the spot.

Right now on my side it's working very well.

BUT, yes, so many forums comments like that want to make me change it to MHD only one day :p

However, MHD liscence + new meth pump controller + new tune = not cheap. around 1300-1500$ cad.

I don’t know what you’re really getting at here. Where did meth come into the conversation? You can get stand alone AEM meth kit that has nothing to do with tuning your car. I have one and I never even turn it on now.

It cost money when you make mistakes. Believe me I know. I have thousands into my car from switching tunes to going from twins to single. Have to pay to play.

Can’t argue the point that running just using MHD and custom tunes is the way to go.

I’m by no means being a smart mouth to you I just don’t know where your coming from with what your saying.

Jusr finished a dyno day at a local garage, and I feel disappointed.

412hp/457tq on DynoJet

Feel like it should have more.

95k miles 2008 N54

JB4/MHD custom tune
93 octane pump gas
Dual Air Intake
High Pressure Side Oil Catch Can
Aluminum charge pipe
Tial BOV
VRSF 7.5" IC
VRSF Catless Downpipes
VRSF Street Exhaust
2x 25 row oil coolers
B58 Coil Pack conversion
220°F Oil Thermostat
Rb2+ Hybrid Turbo Kit (upgraded inlets and PCV)
Fuel-It Stage 2.5 low pressure fuel pump
SPEC Stage 3 clutch
SPEC 14lb flywheel
IRP v2 Short Shifter

Datazap: https://datazap.me/u/n54blacke90/log-1716069953?log=0&data=1-4

Seems about right to me, my 17t turbos are of similar spec.

I don't see much ignition timing on your log, I have mhd+ multimap and got:

437whp at 16psi with 9.4 peak timing, 476whp at 21psi with 8.19 peak timing.

That is with good 100ron pump gas, which is about 94.5octane

The guy asking about his dyno result, and the thread deviated on how he should get rid of JB4, and not how to do adjustment to get his goal power.

I was stating JB4 can help you to achieve goals, and here my 2 cents, I think this is a forum, and we can still add opinions on my experience ? no?
Maybe I wasnt clear, but people using the JB FSB meth kit with JB4 to have more control than a stand alone unit. Thus, the reason I can't change to told OP like other '' yeah , go full MHD''.
Simply the reasoning behind why not ''everybody'' get rid of jb4, and yes some get nice result of that.

Ok man. I’m not arguing with you on whatever you’re trying to prove here.

The OP was disappointed with what he made. Everyone is giving options how to change it and make more HP. I don’t believe anyone that has posted wants to steer the guy in the wrong direction. I gave my opinion based on trial and error plus what I have seen personally.

I think we asked the reason for the JB4 and the reasoning indicates that he might not require the JB4, besides a tune would the best implementation for a tune. There is no meth in the play so no controller required.

I do can imagine to avoid a overdose of meth a good controller would not be a bad thing ;-)

There is barely any ignition if I'm seeing correctly (3-4 degrees?), leaving a lot of power on the table.
However I'm not familiar with tuning for 93 octane, but it seems low.

I wouldn't worry about making more power yet. Focus on getting the power you have down and sure up the breaking points. We care more about how quick and responsive the car is, how it drives. Dynos are as they say only valuable as a tuning tool at best. Doesn't make your car fast. Plenty of dyno queens out there getting chopped in races by 'lower power' cars that are set up.

Great point. :)
