Interesting. Thread now is moved to the Ford sections Octagon.

I'm betting the Ford subsection was a mistake, but the move to the octagon was probably because you came in and started in. It appears that the majority of threads that involve one vendor ultimately result in being moved to the octagon because you show up. Keep up those "orders".

we were updating him as we found info on the tear down, Bryan left out the video I sent him with the final findings. The cylinders were blued from overheating, hone pattern was still intact but all the cylinders were blued and also expanded out from overheating the metal. Also the coolant jacket was completely full of white ash caked on from the coolant being cooked from overheating. See the video for the findings. Even though we strongly believe this engine was overheated as you can see from the video we STILL covered it under warranty and also paid for partial of upgraded JE forged pistons as a customer service.

Regarding the oil pan. A new gasket and oil pan bolts were used and torqued to spec. It’s possible the oil pan was hot when installing it and that shifted the oil pan and damaged the gasket on install. Of course Bryan wants to claim that gasket is revised and bolts are old but 100% they are new. either Way we offered to cover it under warranty but he wanted to repair it locally and we don’t pay another shops labor rate under our warranty. The warranty terms are clearly listed on our website but he wanted to do things his way and modify the warranty agreement to his liking.

Now Bryan has opened up chargebacks. Oh well I see how he is. Teaches me to ever offer a Sponsorhsip engine especially to a kid like this.

Cylinders were blued??? no such thing man here is what a cylinder looks like when it’s overheated. I’ve been building engines for over 10 years. Those cylinders show no signs of getting hot. When a water jacket is ran out of coolant the piston temperature starts climbing near its melting point and begins to expand. Usually they will Begin to seize just like you see in these photos. If there wasn’t any traces of aluminum on the cylinder walls then It didn’t get as hot as you claim. Are you using a ck10 hone to get it round? You were probably using a flex hone. My bet is those cylinders were out of round to begin with.

Rob,
I believe it was moved to disputes as that is where all the disputes threads belong just like disputes against you, disputes against VTT disputes against Frankenturbo they are all in the disputes thread section, but a troll like you doesn’t get that.

Being in the ford section I think doublespaces clicked something incorrectly when he moved it simple mistake I’m sure he can correct.

Seems you still can’t count and I just laid out the numbers for you, you just like being a troll lol.

Also selling engines since 8/2016, lol fake news we barely started selling our turbos around that time. So more confusing lies from you. We started selling engines in April of 2018...hmmm, why lie? Oh right, because troll life. Slow at first then picked up like I said before/above.

I think you also lost you ability to count honestly from your turbo “reliability” numbers thread being BS. We have been contacted by people with your turbos with some pretty nasty failure but funny how you fail to report that on your “transparency thread”

The truth here is there is tons of jealousy from your end towards MMP which is why you resort to trolling to see if you can confuse people into I guess giving you more business.

So I wonder...why aren’t you posting in your “transparency” turbo failure thread about the failures I have seen your customers send me and you blame something else? Seems like more of the same old RB Turbo except hidden this time. They send you the pics same as they send me why won’t you post them on your “transparency thread”?

I’m pretty much done replying to you as this is what the troll likes, to be fed. Well that’s enough time wasted with you. I’m sure you’ll come back with a page of passive aggressive insults and confusing troll numbers and whatever else, I’ll just ignore it and leave it at that you are lying to people in your “transparency thread” on the reliability of your turbos. We all have failures but it’s how you take care of the customer that counts when it does. You are still denying warranties and blaming customers or making it hard on them to return stuff from internationall places etc. You make it seem like your at-fault failure rate is 0 for 2 yes but I have emails with pics that show otherwise and that’s just what I recieve from your customers switching to me after not being happy with you and denied warranty. I wonder what VTT, Pure, and others have received in the same time about your customers switching to them. Hmmmm....

"It was moved to the octagon because that is where it belongs." Translation: I (MMP) complained to get it out of the open air.

Tell you what sir- if you ever have any quality issues on RB you can absolutely feel free to put it into our Reliability stats thread- we will happily discuss it and you have no worries about defiance or banning. Hell I'd be open to even making a thread where you can post at will, and how about we also do this in vice versa? I'd step it up by even offering amnesty from those who piped up, if you can find one who feels they were declined warranty we'd love to hear about it. Now would you do the same?

And you think what I say comes without a bunch of crap behind the scenes from guys who've bought your products, every week we have another looking for oil drains and PCV stuff hoping to keep their MMP turbos from smoking. I personally spend HOURS on the phone with these guys, so making these posts on the internet is just a small drop in the bucket comparatively on time. Now you make these claims that we decline warranty claims (that we just do not get), and meanwhile YOU literally tell YOUR customers that IF they say anything online they are void of warranty- dude this is even on your website for god sakes. Hopefully at least some can see through this nonsense.

Ultimately we can tell you with utmost certainty, that every issue we have had or have (which is next to nothing)- is fully documented in that RB Quality and Stats thread which includes all of our entire current portfolio of offerings of which were produced over the past ~2-3 years. So unless you have our customers who simply do not report anything to us, it is going to be there. If you have something else rest assured it is a much older product that has not even had a warranty for a very lengthy amount of time due to expiry. Otherwise it is very hard to decline a warrantable claim, when there are simply no claims. Tell you something sir it is very nice when there is nothing to hide.

Now this is forthrightness and transparency you could learn from but keep on being a slimy corner cutting clown of a vendor- guess everyone has their special skill sets in life.

Thanks,
Rob

Have no doubts it was fake news, after all it was something you'd published. This is why I gave the benefit of the doubt, a 3 month buffer, and credit for 11/16-11/18 to make the 2 years. But that aside it is great news about the "50" N54/N55 engine builds since THIS April, the garbage "fake news" never ends with some of you guys lol. Knowing this new April 2018 beginning of engine build date claim, I retract the prior 10 guesstimate and now put it closer to 3-5. Of these the OP claims 3 are having issues, and the other 2 probably aren't shipped or installed yet.

More lies from you, selling arp bolts and ported heads was not selling built engines. See on Facebook when we announced the built engine program and started selling it on our website, no where near August 2016. Go find it and come back please.

Umm, why would you have to offer amnesty if you don't/aren't denying warranties? Hmmmmm.

Also though, if you have less failures, could it be that you just have less sales. The only results that are EVER posted on RBS are the ones you have from 5+ years ago. Oh that's right - your customers have never heard of the internet...

All in all, i dont think this incident should of been public. He tried hooking you up and you crapped all over it. I despise people like this. Maybe it should be titled. “I was offered a promotional one on one deal, and im mad i have out of pocket expenses from common mistakes.” No body is going to have 100% success rate in any field or industry. I feel this is a childish reaction. MMP should be cautious of “friendships” i have had an “issue” come up with almost every product at some point for the N54. Its not uncommon. Im am however impressed at the lengths MMP went through to facilitate this deal/sponsorship with you. I think a hands on customer with more wrenching experience would be a better candidate for these types of agreements.

Hmm interesting viewpoint but you'd think the vendor should have just not worked so hard to do a poor job at a cheap price. This is not atypical for this vendor and quality should always come before quantity..

Also as a mature Vendor you must know when to say: "If I can't put my John Hancock on this by doing it the way I want to do it, using the time it is going to take and by using the quality in components I'd like to use; then wish you the best in going elsewhere." The fact that its being put on the customer as "You paid a really cheap amount that you should've known better to do" is quite excusing to the Vendor who put his stamp on it all- to say the least.

Ultimately HAD this guy NOT been solicited for a deal (seemingly pounced on for that matter), he'd just purchased another decent used engine and avoided all these headaches going forward. However this enticement was presented as a deal/sponsorship but would've been better defined as a beta test budget build that later unfortunately went very wrong.

I've said it before but building engines is not for the faint of heart, there is NO margin for error and if you have any at all ever you are in the wrong business as it will eat you alive (due to the expense levels of everything around the process). For these reasons and as always hats off to those long timers who can make their living at doing exclusively engine builds, and for the consumers keep in mind you DO get what you pay for out there. The lesson to be learned here is to trust only REAL experience and buyer beware.

So what about the other 49+ engines since April, where are they?

Lol where are all the RB turbo cars, since you're so busy without advertising? I've yet to see any results from any rbs in the past year+.

What does your net sales/profit sheet look like?

Lang? Blocked that guy months ago. Complete lost cause.

BTW apparently even can't even go a day without emails like this first one I see this morning:
" i bought some mmp turbos a couple months ago and have had nothing but problems. i need your guys help. the silicone outlets keep melting because mmp designs terrible products and there is no way to install the outlets without them being to close to the manifold. i was wondering if the heat sheild you guys make would clear the mmp 1k cast manifolds. please help me. ive already given maricio at mmp to much money, and all for nothing because my car is still down".

They very common "hey I bought your competitors garbage and they will not help me out, so can you?" email.

Granted this is seemingly (have yet to respond) only for outlets here, but after 2+ years of these chronically failing you'd think this guy would pull the plug on them already. Keep in mind, all purchased just a "couple months ago" and reported this morning.

Lang is a long time forum brand loyalist of MMP, and a forever RB antagonist if you will- seemingly quite delusional. One time I'd checked (on our last reputation system) and his singular contributions consisted of ~50% of our TOTAL Neg reps. This persisted even after ignoring him as well.

We've seen a couple others like him, but they seem to have dumped MMP and moved on in life after they get burnt up over and over with bad experience after bad experience. Probably some small group of "sponsorship's" and relentless supporters- that eventually fizzle away.

No idea on his profession.

PS. I see that you are loaded up quite well with the MMP gear. I hope for your sake it serves you well.

I had to swap the injectors out
From the PI kit, i also switched the outlets to psp , as 30 psi was too much for silicon which kept splitting/exploding. I only put about 1000 miles a year on the car as of 3 years ago.I also have had to replace the engine 3 times.(stock swaps). Its use is just for groceries/weekend racing, which is why I deliberately chose cheap turbos and bolt ons/knowing that you get what you pay for.

As an unbiased third party, the fact that this thread is still in the ford Octagon is very fishy. There's no other threads in this sub-forum; it's dead. It should be in the BMW Octagon where it gets the proper traction from those of us looking for the best engine builders for N5X engines.

I don't believe any of MMP's nonsense about overheating the cylinders and causing them to be egg shaped. For all he knows they could have been egg shaped before, and if he wants us to believe OP was the reason for egg shaping, he better have hard evidence of what they looked like before he shipped the engine out.

Not rocket science, but the stuff MMP has come back with doesn't disprove or invalidate the issues OP has experienced and it feels like everyone is talking past one another. At least I know where my money won't be going when I decide to build.
