Hey guys this is my first post on this forum or any forum for that matter lol I just had a question about Manual Swapping my FBO E30 135i DCT car to Manual, before some of you say “sell it and get a manual” along with other responses of that nature I’ve come across a blown 1 series n55 with a manual and was able to talk the guy down to a REALLY reasonable for everything needed for this swap (IE…all the Electronics, Driveshaft, Differential, Transmission, Pedal Box, ect…). What I was wondering is if you could use the Pro Tool coding App to successfully code the modules to my car somewhat easily without having to bring my car to the shop. All of the parts for the install on the mechanical side I can do myself it’s just the electrical elements, I don’t want to jump in the deep-end without know how to swim or at least tread water if you know what I mean.

Depends on how familiar you are with FA coding. If you're already familiar then you just have to take off $2TC (DCT) and write that FA to the CAS and if you want, FRM. After that, default code your CAS, DME, DSC, Kombi.

It's been a while for me but I think you also need to reset the "learned variants" adaptation in the dme so it can relearn what is and isn't available, aka the dct.

Yes, you need to reset the DME variants. The DME will check for a TCU at every startup, if it gets a response then it updates the flag for an automatic transmission, that flag is persistent and once set the DME will use the DCT settings and expect a response from the TCU. The same is done for all optional systems, you need to tell the DME to forget everything and relearn if you remove them.

I put a function for it my app amongst the adaptation resets. PM me your google play store email and I'll add to the list so you can use it for free.
