yeah or you skip the overpriced bullshit and take the current improved OEM design and apply Loctite 648 between the gears and the hub. Will never come loose again.

I use this compound on a lot of parts that I make to lock in bearings. IT's forgiving to use before it cures.

That's an interesting point, certainly may be worth adding to something like the VTT which still retains the OEM design.

Could be an idea to add it to the inner hub where the snout goes in and splines lock + on the crank timing gear and leave the oil pump gear as is for easy disassembly with the timing chain cartridge.

Waiting for Black Friday Sales before I buy.

Prices have gotten a lot more palatable for a 4-pin design since then!

New INA timing set and VTT Crank hub have arrived.

My car has around 107k miles (172k kms) - Should I change the Cam gears / Vanos actuators so all parts in contact with the new timing chain are new?

I've seen many crank hub replacement videos where they just re-use the old chain and cam sprockets / gears - however I'm assuming this is because they were low mile installations eg sub 20-30k miles.

New Sprockets will add around $700 AUD to the already climbing bill, but I want to do it so it will last for the next 100k miles.

I've been looking at the AISIN spockets as they look to be the OEM ones that BMW use - any other suggestions?
