Depends on the parts and how they look. Imo, the factory style look is best because it means the fit, finish, material choices, etc are all well thought out and executed, unlike taking some polished aluminum elbows and throwing some colorful silicone couplers and cheap clamps on and having some mismatched gaudy engine bay that looks like shit.
@BQTuning Any possibility of progress for 1 series fit?
Those 2” on that stock 740i y-pipe are small. Are you using pvc for the 3D printed parts?
Well, total affective area, ae, is still going to be your main hurdle, and those two inlets don’t look like they’ll have the same ae as the part they mate to.The bigger problem from my measurements is the absurdly small cross section of the intake over the front radiator support. Hence the need for a second air feed.

I think this is what you are referring to.
Those 2 pipes merge together almost immediately.

That’s correct. The merge looks good, but I would smooth out the transitions outlined in blue with as large of a radius as you can. The smoother the transition, the better/more laminar the flow.
btw, how do you like your race deck flooring? Did you consider swisstrax? What swayed you? Feel free to answer via pm.
Give this a look see when you get a chance.Ah. I see what you mean.
