I thought autolite would be a good cost effective option but they suck. I also live in BFE with very little access to reasonable parts unless I buy them online.

I suspect that my 95770 issues may partly be from poor gapping technique where I may have put some pressure on the tip. Now I have a good feeler gauge and gapper.

Just so everyone is clear if they skim through this the Autolite are garbage lol

I have a brand new set in my tool box if you are really that compelled to try them!

20 bucks shipped ;)

Good info on the autolite I've not seen them used before, what brought you to try them? People should be avoiding the GTR plugs as well, lots of issues.

The 95770 should be perfectly fine out of the box with the BL coils. That's what I'm running on the PR for the last couple thousand miles and a long road trip at .031" on maxed out stockers, the BL shouldn't struggle there at all either.

N20 are my current recommendation for high power builds, they seem to do well but are colder than the 95770 so might need to gap down ever so slightly compared to the others to prevent misfires over time as carbon accumulates. There's a couple other plugs I've heard people using, someone mentioned the LKAR8AI-9 6706 which is a heat range 9 (3 steps colder than OEM) and used in motorcycles but I haven't tried it, I think Tony did last year and had a few misfires and went back to 95770 but might be worth checking into as well.

They also make a "flex fuel" n20 plug which is 3 steps colder, I have yet to try it tho.

Alex haven you ever learned a difference between s55 and n55

Side note, I'm sure you have noticed an s55 uses a different oil filter as well.. I've wondered if it's the same kinda thing with the plugs... Just an "M" badge on it.

Not sure of the difference, but I'd also like to try the i8 plugs. Similar to the n20 but supposedly better for high performance.
Side note, alpina also uses the n20 plugs on their TT v8 engines

Yea the i8 engine is considered a U designation of that 3cyl. There are gonna be 3 designs of every engine moving forward I understand and the US I belive will be the highest performance version
U as in Ubuer

I didn't know that about the Alpina I'm sure you guys don't see many either or you have that one client and it's always there lol

I used to run the 95770 gapped at .022 with my plasma coils without issue but now i have BL coils and was suggested to use the N20 plugs gapped at .025 so I basically wanted to know why the change in plugs?

I think there was a flex fuel bmw with the n20 motor released in South America and the plugs was specific to that engine. If I recall it was one step colder than the normal n20 plugs. I have not seen or heard of someone who actually managed to get their hands on this plug though.

That would make sense in South America all they have is sugar cane. Anyways I never searched but also have never seen or been asked about this plug. I can rummage through etk when I go into work on Monday and see if I can find a way to get them. The n20s are already pretty cold I'm not sure the need for any colder is there..
