I am sorry to hear this. Why does this kind of sham stuff happen so much on this platform. 30 years in the BMW world and I have never seen anything like N54-land. I guess, being Italian, I can't imagine these kinds of circumstances - how does that guy not fear for his well being?

I have said it before and will say it again. MATT MALAVE @ZNM in Pompton Plains NJ is a joke.i know few guys that had their single turbo install with missing parts with the install after done, also stock turbos that came off weren't the same that were on the car.given a different stock turbos and he kept the good ones that were on the car prior.promises that he cant keep,he will say what ever you want to here.its just sad there's people like this out there. Also stay away from the D riders on e90p##t,you try to say anything negative there in NJ thread about zmn auto and they just shut you down, that site is only good for selling, buying and diy's,

Hmmm. Doesn't ZNM offer the FCP like lifetime warranty on the parts he sells?
What better way to drive sales than to claim "lifetime warranty". It's on you to actually get it. I didn't see it in this thread so it must have been FB - he was charging people 500 for warranty on injectors.

@The Banshee and others, I'm truly sorry to hear these stories.

While it is not in the scope of this forum, I wonder if - for well established shysters (I'm not talking about grey line situations - one-off complaints, not the best services or capability complaints, etc) - if there should not be a sub-forum where these threads can be moved to an clear subforum. What I mean by that ... Octagon is a catchall for several things. I'm talking about a subforum like, "Shady Suppliers", where a thread like this with such overwhelming feedback would be moved. God I would hope we wouldn't see too many threads there, but I am aware of at least 3 threads on Spoolstreet that are clear contenders for this. This one clearly qualifies in my book.

The reason for such a subforum would be to elevate awareness of these predators so members (and non-members) can more easily find those threads. I'll say it again, these people are community predators. It's in the community's best interest to elevate this kind of issue. My 02 cents.

Just a update I just left znm where I was going to pick up the rest of my money which was 1315 I was given $1,000 cash 100 through PayPal and I was told by Matt that his PayPal account was shut down and he will give me the rest through a debit card on another PayPal. This guy has a book full of excuses and if his Paypal really did get shut down I can only wonder to myself for what reasons

Clear Ponzi scheme. He's handing you back someone else's money. What stays in his pocket is whoever doesn't go back to get what is a. Same story with the parts.

Last week I went to get a quick lunch(out of town) on my way to a meeting and came across a black e92,you can see it had work done to it.Well while I was eating in my truck, the guy comes out and we started talking.Nice guy,he goes and tells me he was getting his single turbo installed next week at ZNM AUTO.i chuckled and said small world,i had him install my single turbo.normally I do all my own work but didn't have time to do the single turbo myself.so he came recommended from a good source.regret that now, anyway,he goes on that he(ZMN) had his Doc Race kit for months and has been pushed off on install.
So to the nice guy I met in Parsippany NJ,hope you read this and this thread,go elsewhere or hope he comes through for you.i didn't divulge my issues to him but think I should of warned him.

Seems like a lot of bad blood on this thread, I can speak to my experiences (positive):

July 2017 - Matt did my e90 DocRace kit on my 2007 6MT with around 135k miles at the time, we did the turbo install, transmission refresh (seals and whatnot), all cooling system lines, wp/tstat, index 12s, starter, a bunch of other ancillaries. The car was done within the timeframe we discussed and other than a blowing a new Bosch O2 sensor everything was fine (Matt replaced the O2 at no charge per the lifetime warranty). I drove the car weekly between DC and NYC with no issues. There were a few really small things that I redid myself due to my OCD-ness, no complaints towards ZNM

March 2018 - Matt took my second n54 from stock to FBO and again general maintenance items + wp/tstat, index 12s...no issues with this car either, car was done on time as well.

Probably why you had a "POSITIVE" experience is due to people like Matt at ZNM take care of their own.
Added,Matt loves to use the term "ancillaries" in every conversation.

I also have good experience with Matt.

Bought 18 index 12 injectors from him before the price went up and 4 came back as faulty a few months ago.
I contacted Matt, got a RMA doc and shipped them back. I cheaped out on the shipping and shipped them w/o door to door tracking.
Surprise surprise, they haven't arrived..
Matt could've just let me deal with it but he stepped up and told me he'd make an exception and warranty these anyway.
Should be getting them next week. That's great customer service in my book.

I hope it works out for you, but since it has yet to pan out, please update us on the result.

Hopefully he doesnt claim surprise surprise right back and say he sent them but doesnt. Maybe he reads this and it increases your odds of not getting screwed.

Anyone who takes people's money, lies to them, performs shoddy work, and don't pay there bills, should be put on a black list when you type anything with BMW in it. You can't trust anyone out there who has there hands in n54 performance parts. There are a lot of great guys that I've read about who truly put there blood and sweat into this, and deserve praise. When as a company, digs as low as to receive funds, don't deliver the product, or just stop communicating, ya, everyone needs to know about it.

Sue the guy in small claims court (up to $3,000). Here’s how to do it:
https://www.njcourts.gov/forms/10151_sc_non_motorveh.pdf?cacheID=Un2eVje

If over $3,000, up to $15,000:
https://www.njcourts.gov/forms/10541_dc_complnt.pdf?cacheID=FJPvmIs

Good luck!

Already on it brother. I have another plan in the works as well. I have yet to inspect the turbo to confirm it’s actually the new ball bearing 6466 I paid for. Car is in the shop now so when I get it back I will take it apart to check the housing numbers and inspect the internals to see what he installed. If he scammed me
on the turbo, which is very likely, I will be going for the over 3k option but I will have to pay for attorney. I can represent myself in the small claims option. I have a lawyer on retain at work so he has been helping me as Jersey consumer law is bit different. I am also working on another legal option as well. I have received pm’s from others who have not yet posted so more to come. The amount Matt has scammed from this community is staggering.

Could you not sue him in small claims court multiple times? Once for the turbo kit, once for other items, once or labor, etc?
