He's matching OEM turbo horsepower with 60wtq less and a 1,000+ rpm loss in spool.
Typical N54 mentality. More efficient. More reliable. Easier to work on / maintain. Less heat. Power that CLIMBS to redline. Great spool, for just a single, on a shitty top-mount manifold (JP). And it's journal bearing without a billet wheel. Super promising to say the least. What makes going single worth it to you? 700whp on a 1000whp turbo? Tons of lag, no traction, running 12s and doing highway pulls? People have different goals.
I mean, sure, but normally you'd like to see more of a bonus on the power end of things. It's expensive to upgrade turbos in cost and time. Power climbing is great, but a graph that looks like that only because there isn't much power down low is far from ideal. Now add 100 whp to those numbers and we're in agreement. 
biggest point here is usable power, so I generally agree. I'd love to see what a gen2 could do on a more efficient manifold.
Hello. I'm a noob to all of this so forgive my possibly stupid questions. Are the twin GC turbos using a ball bearing or journal bearing core? And does the single turbo kit fit RHD vehicles?

Hello, our GC series V1, and V2 both fit RHD, we have many installed, and are honestly the premeiere solution for RHD N54 owners looking for more power. Top mount kits, are laggy, and have not shown to be the most powerful. The bottom mount single most likely will not fit. Lots of things in the way down there.
There is one single turbo bottom mount solution nearing release in Sydney, Australia using a Garrett GTX 3584 RS.

Not looking to start an argument but from what I've read so far, the kit you're talking about is likely to be way overpriced. At least compared to just about every other kit I've seen on the market.
I saw one too. It was so ugly I didn't even post it. No offense to anyone.
There aren't any complete RHD single turbo kits out there.
Just the UK manifold now and a simple log manifold from 101duck. And both have their compromises.
Over priced is subjective, as is the quality of all n54 products out there.
Think you may be referring to the top mount log out of QLD.
Anyway, this is about VTT's latest offerings...so back to that.

That's all well and good, and I get the concept of supply and demand, but the price being talked about is just ridiculous. Just because there is no competition doesn't justify an astronimical price. At least not if actual sales are the goal.
I think you'll find price is related to the work and parts involved. Easy to shoot from the bleachers about price when the RHD market is minuscule compared to LHD. There is low demand, high investment and little prospect of volume orders to achieve any economy of scale with prices.
At the end of the day quality costs...plenty of hybrids that'll fit RHD budgets for most. Horses for courses.
I'm looking forward to the latest GC changes.

As i said, I understand supply and demand. I also understand the need to recoup development costs. I'm simply not going to be one of the people who cops that financial hit for being an early adopter of that kit. Maybe once some runs are on the board and the price comes down if it's what I'm after. In the mean time, I'll keep looking at twins like these.
