Not trolling being serious if you don't mind roughly how expensive is that swap and how much power you think can hold, also how bad is it to dd does it just lay on converter in high gear so kinda feels like cvt when driving light?
Sup, sorry rarely on here. thanks for my own thread haha, lonely, hopefully jacks here soon.
car was dd until recently (purchased f80) it dd fine honestly, obviously if you've never driven a car with a large stall before then it's hard to explain, but yeah basically, take off in first converter flares, car moves, shift into second and just cruise around like its a cvt until you stop somewhere, then just back to first and take off again. on the highway it sat on around 2800rpm or so at 100km/h. fuel consumption was around 14l to 100km, but thats on e85, and it was never meant to be good on fuel.
If you like your car to drive like it's stock, then it's probably not for you. But it's not the mod that makes it a dedicated track car that's for sure. very street friendly still.
as for how expensive, i have no idea in the usa, but obviously doing the whole lot myself, with a full built box (reid case, billet gearset, etc) it owed me around 9k aud.
this box is rated at 2500hp, Obviously being a full weight car at around 3800lbs trans brake launches are extra harsh on it, but it takes it fine. If I built my car again, I wouldn't change a thing. It's too much fun to drive with the glide and the aggressive power curve, wins plenty roll races, near on unstoppable on the street and still has aircon and a stereo, and man can it lay down a skid.
