Yeah I was worried about that as well. I inspected it after 1000 miles and it looks good but I might as well throw some heat tape on it since I have a bunch just laying around lol. You think the compressor housing gets much hotter than the radiator fluid? It would be interesting to know what kind range of temperature it gets up to during a pull.Hey, if the U hose is touching the compressor housing i would highly advise either using some heat protective material/ or something that repels it between them. My compressor housing still gets too hot to touch and I'm concerned that it may melt through your hose eventually.
Here's a matchbot for a BW efr 8374 running 20 psi. compressor outlet temps up in the 270's & 280's, I imagine the 6466 would be pretty similar, defintaley in the same ball park.Yeah I was worried about that as well. I wonder if it will continue to work after I fix my ESS servo motor. Guess I'll find out after hahaGlad to hear the blow off valve is working on just manifold vacuum!
That right! I forgot your valvetronic was on the fritzI wonder if it will continue to work after I fix my ESS servo motor. Guess I'll find out after haha

So a 3 port is up to 2.5 times your wastegate spring. and a 4 port is up to 6 times your wastegate spring. But always keep in mind you sacrifice tuning resolution with a 4 port.Anyone know what max boost a 4-port mac solenoid should be able to make a 6466 max out at when the spring pressure measures at 7.8 psi? I thought when researching it said 4x the spring pressure, reason I ask is my car seems to only be able to make 19.5 psi when I am demanding 23. Thinking about adding a spring and trying to get the wastegate spring pressure up from 7.8 to around 12 or 13. Thanks as always for any information.

This is true. It’s called a fire seat ring I believe. Every wastegate I’ve seen had this as a separate piece. So this is pretty basic and probably isn't your problem, but as I'm new to external wastegates I didn't realize this was a thing.. My turbosmart comes with a valve seat that is seperate from the valve body, so it's possible to install without it in place. If that happens there will be an airgap when the wastegate is closed, like in this picture. Like I said, I'm noob with external wastegates, but just wanted to mention this in case it could be related to your wastegate.
