Planning to undergo building my 07' 335i sport sedan.

Off hand from what i've read and gathered from other owners, I'll be starting with xHP, MHD, and fbo.

Traction is my biggest concern, so lsd and some sort of rear drag suspension will probably go in before we focus on making any real power. In that case, a set of vtt twins or a st kit will be sourced to push for a 600-700whp build.

Are there any starter mods, or steps I should take aside the obvious maintenance items before trying to pull power out of the engine?

Thanks! Love these forums!

Don't waste your money on stuff like inlets, downpipes or intake if you're going single turbo, they won't be used obviously.

Ade makes a rear drag suspension kit. You can always get an exhaust and fmic. We are doing an lsd group buy in the next couple days.

Save drag suspension for when you do single. Ignore the need to go "FBO" which is a silly term anyway. Save your money on half of those mods like doublespaces said and put it towards a single turbo setup. Your wallet will thank you later.

Choose the best intercooler you can't afford!

You could also start on your fuel system with a stage 2 LPFP as a minimum so you can have some fun with an E85 mix on your stock turbos and run full E85 when you upgrade them to something else.

Consider replacing all your engine mounts, diff bushings, subframe bushings etc. especially if you're high mileage if you're going big power.

Also take a look at MMP turbos (Group buy going on now) they seem to perform pretty well if you want to keep a twin setup. ADE makes a good FMIC

Are there single turbo flashes available via MHD?

Not sure what you mean exactly, but there are people who run their cars with flash only. Because of the difference in wastegate actuation(Vacuum vs boost) between factory and aftermarket single turbo setups, a JB4 or BoostBox is required.

That makes sense that the factory boost control system would be a hurdle... is there any way to delete it and run a manual boost controller?
