Hey everyone!

Been having issues with my vehicle since the single turbo setup was complete.

I have been reading through reddit's, forums, and many other websites but their is no definitive answer for my issue.

I'll explain the setup the car is running to get you guys some more insight along with a list of stuff I have tried to combat this issue with.

Setup:
On3 Single turbo kit
Pulsar 6466 Turbo
Tial 44mm Wastegate
PR Stage 2 LPFP
Single mass fly wheel
spec stage 3.5 clutch
3.5 Bar TMAP (N20)
3 Port Mac solenoid
single bank fueling
IKM0S (tuner requested)

Parts I've replaced:
Replaced previous index 9's with 6 used index 12's
lightly used LPFP sensor
Brand new upstream bosch o2 sensor
6 brand new 97506 spark plugs gapped @ 0.020
walnut blast
clutch switch

Parts I have yet to replace (as I don't think it will fix the issue)
Coil packs
HPFP
MAF Sensor
TMAP
Throttle body gasket
Intake manifold gasket
Intake manifold
Throttle body

Log:
Datazap

My idea:
I know nothing software related to this car, but the only idea I have come up with is the IKM0S software. This is a MSD81 ECU so factory IJE0S but I keep thinking this oscillation issue is due to the software IKM0S. I have tried flashing back to a stock map, then reflashing tune map but has solved nothing. I even purchased a tune from a new tuner to diagnose whether it'd be a tune related issue but nope. AFR oscillation is checked in MHD but didn't do anything, reset adaptations with MHD multiple times yet still no fix. Not sure what else to do, if anyone has a clue let me know.

Literally nobody has an answer for this, been through 3 shops in the past month and nobody can figure it out. I hate to keep throwing money and parts at this to potentially fix or not fix this issue.

If you view the log you'll see STFT jump up and down, AFRs go up and down, and the throttle also bogs up and down.

Any codes? I've heard that the On3 kit has some fitment issues on the turbo and downpipe vband. Check to see if there is a leak there as this can definitely throw off the AFR's.

following because same.
INA0S software
dme control boost
gt3884r
constantly having to reset lambda adaptations to prevent lean conditions.
has been happening since DCT swap🤷🏽‍♂️

Looks like O2 sensor diagnostics causing it. Lambda oscillation has been discussed all over here and E90 post. It's simple to fix in the tune.

You either disable the diagnostics in the tune or force the catalyst checks to pass. DocVu and the other random myspace tuners will not know how to do that because it's not in any of the tunes they copied.

Hey carabuser is this something that applies to the n55s as well? I have a 2011 e92 that had the n54 style pump and stumbled upon some of your posts and I’m wondering if that’s what some of us guys with n55s are experiencing. My tuner David Shoup hasn’t been able to figure out and I’ve pretty much replaced and smoke tested everything at this point

What do the logs look like?

These diagnosis tests are part of the standard code in for emissions control monitoring so I would expect them to be reused all over in BMW petrol vehicles. Probably a standard library used in all Siemens ECUs.

Looks like the same issue. You can tell quite easily if it's diagnostic related because it will stop as soon as you give it a bit of load as the diagnostic routines are often to set to stop at a certain rpm or maf threshold.
Thanks for the help, now how would I explain it to my tuner as far as fixing it? I know you explained it up above, but is it something simple or are the tables the same between the n55 and n54, just wanna know the best way to word it for him so he can get it

He'd have to do a bit of work finding the table needed.

Start by logging the DME to see which diagnostic is causing the lambda stimulation. He's need to create the custom logging files in MHD for that. Then read through the FR to find out which table in the DME needs to be changed to either allow the routine to pass, or to prevent it starting.

Preventing it starting might fix the problem but it would also possibly prevent other routines from running too so it's always best to make them pass rather than block them.

What table needs to be changed in order to let it complete? Just want to modify my virgin BEF to get rid of this oscillation 🤷
