This was submitted to our Supra MKV Facebook group and thought I'd make a post about it since I love this sort of custom work. Some people find a lot of value in the enjoyment of rowing their own gears and I can appreciate that. Many of us grew up with this sense of connectivity to the vehicle and feel it enhances the driving experience and makes it more enjoyable. When all things are considered enjoyment is what this is all about, right?
The guys over at European Auto Group understand this and have decided to rip out the ZF 8HP and associated technical goodies in favor of it's ZF counterpart which I presume is the ZF-GS6-45BZ that can be found in the other cars of a similar application such as the F80 M3/M4 (S55) and F30 340i (B58).
European Auto Group is no stranger to manual conversions which is evident by their work done earlier this year on a Ferrari F430 Spyder where a 6 speed manual was blended into the Ferrari experience:
They kicked off this Supra project back in September when EAG received the ZF manual transmission and laid out some of their plans:
They have a four part video series that covers the process of getting the automatic removed and having the manual transmission installed, props to them for being first!
