Hey all,

I've been troubleshooting this issue for a while and have come to a point where I need to consult the N54 masters here. So I have this issue where around 18+ PSI of boost (or max load for my current tune) my Ethanol Sensor CAN % reading spikes to 38%. It is screwing with my ability to get a Flex Fuel tune, as the tune adjusts based on this value. I have only been running Pump 93 throughout all my testing. At the time of the gathered log, I was at around a quarter tank of 93 (although previous tests were done on a dyno with fuel levels at >half tank)

(Relevant?) Modifications:
  • Doc Race DR700 Bottom Mount Turbo with Precision 6266 Gen2 BB turbo (Recirc. Wastegate)
  • Turbosmart GenV Hypergate45 wastegate with 19psi spring
  • BMP Forward Facing Manifold with 750CC Bosch injectors, aluminum CP w/ tial BOV
  • Walbro 450 bucketless pump
  • Precision Raceworks Forward Facing Manifold with Port Injection (750cc injectors) (0-10 bar Motiv Pressure connected onto PI Fuel Rail Aux In 2)
  • Motiv ReFlex Plus w/ Aux Port 1 connected to 3-port MAC Sol
  • Nexsys Motorsport B58 Ignition Coil Upgrade w/ NGK-94201 plugs
  • VSRF 7.5" Stepped Race Intercooler
  • Continental Ethanol Sensor connected via ReFlex
  • O2 Sensors connected for Single Bank Fueling
  • 3.5bar TMAP

In my troubleshooting, I've attempted:
  • changing the ground on the Reflex to a few different locations in engine bay, final resting spot shown in attached photo
  • 20240527_191655.jpgReFlex Wiring .png
  • changing the +12V input to different ECU connection
  • routing the Ethanol sensor wire behind the windshield cowl AWAY from the B58 coils (possible RF noise affecting line?)
  • replacing all relays with diode-blocked relays for Precision fuel pump (and underglow and LED headlights --although I ended up just pulling the fuse for those as to take them out of the loop completely)
  • replaced the Continental Ethanol Sensor with a new one
  • cleaned connection between Sensor and Cable
Any ideas on where to look/test next?

06/27/24 EDIT w/ Resolution:
So after updating my Reflex+ with the latest firmware (went from v44 to v6.35) and tuning files (v6.2 XDF and v6.2 ADX), the ethanol fluctuations at WOT have been greatly reduced. In the Reflex+ Firmware Changelog there's a mention of 'ethanol sensitivity' updates, so I assume this was the specific code fix that fixed the issue. I now fluctuate 1-2% at WOT instead of 30+%. I kept all the wire routing as shown in my above images.

I had a problem with my E sensor dropping out when port kicked in. Ended up figuring out by talking to Motiv. The relay from PR has a resister in it and the resistor fried. Which would surge the system and drop it all out on the motive. I also replaced the E sensor too Incase it was damaged.
