Hi guys this is my first time posting here. I was posting on jb4tech but didn't get an answer so figure I would try here.
I am running DCI and "cleared pipes" and have a JB4 with a PUMP BEF. I did stage 2 bucketed walbro 450 upgraded and now running around E40 mix. On Map 1 hitting 15 psi of boost I am getting a lot of timing corrections around 4-5K rpms. I am running brand new Delphi coils done valve cleaning fresh 10w-40 engine oil with healthy injectors and hpfp. There is no stumble on cold starts. What could be causing the timing drops? Thank you!

What response are you looking for ? I saw the thread on the other site and you were given plenty of advice.
1. Octane
2. IATs causing timing pulls.
3. Not long enough pulls to evaluate
4. Keep switching maps
5. You keep switching fuels, 91, e15, e25, etc.

That is 1 long ass log BUT I do see IATs really high so DME pulls timing to save your motor.

1. They suggested me to add ethanol to see if the ca 91 fuel is bad. I added ethanol and my stock lp_fuel went bad so I go walbro and started increasing ethanol. Now I am on second tank of e40.
2. I thought IAT under 140 is okay?
3. I wanted to try map 5 but I am getting consistentency with map 1 so im sticking to it since last full e40.

Would a FMIC improve things? in terms of timing corrections?

I would definitely invest in a FMIC.
I would also do 1 clean pull before IATs climb too high and evaluate from there. As stated in other thread, verify you have E40 In the tank. I don't care about how many gallons are mixed. If the pump spits out e60 then your math would be wrong and you have UNDER E40 and so on.
Map 1 and log.

Im using the jb4 ethanol indicator. If it states a bit low I add a bit more ethanol so I know its as accurate as it gets.

I will try the cooling IAT then doing a full 3rd gear pull to see if its the IAT thanks for the suggestion

This is the problem you had on Terrys site. Follow instructions if you want help.
The virtual sensor is pretty useless. I have a BEF that scalars are off. If I run that, virtual sensor reads literally 0 on E85. If I load up my dialed in BEF it reads closer to what is actually in the tank.
The virtual sensor uses injector duty cycle and maybe something else to calculate what is in the tank IIRC.
IIRC the offset recommended is 132 on user adjustments, yours is at 140. Play with that number and watch E content go up and down. This does not mean your actual in tank E content is going up and down if you are still on the same tank of gas.
Test the damn fuel and go from there.

Once you verify what E blend you are actually running, you can then dial in virtual sensor and that will be a little more accurate to play with. You are doing it opposite.
As I said, I can get that to read 0 on full E85, just like I can play with numbers and get it to read E90 running E40.

The reason I trust the virtual E85 thing is because yes I already used the 140 value since I am on Bef. My friends ST n54 has a ethanol sensor and when I got E40 mix he got pure e85 before me and the sensor in his car told e80.

I calculated my mix based on that and after driving a couple miles for the gas to mix and jb4 to calculate it exactly calculated e40-e39.

Did another run 3rd gear with moderate IAT. The car doesn't seem happy only targeting less than 6* of timing at higher RPM and avg_ign is still above 4 which for e40 mix sounds pretty high cause it should be down to 3 or 2
I really wish you would post just 1 log with 1 third gear pull. The logs you posted in the beginning AVG IGN was in fact UNDER 3.
Fuel does not look like E40 to me but at one point avg ign was under 3 as I said.
That is nowhere near as important as actual timing though. 1 good log would work wonders and an actual e40 blend in tank.
Good luck man

Curious, how many gallons of each ? How many gallons were in the tank ? You make things more complicated for yourself. This should take a day to dial in, you been at it for weeks.
