2ABC and 3100 after custom tune

I will try to include as much info as possible so you guys can understand what’s going on. So I have dual cone intakes, charge pipe, and BOV so I decided to run stage 1 through mhd. Everything was fine but I was looking to see if someone could provide a custom tune. After I flashed a few revisions of the custom tune and installed 1 step colder plugs for increased boost, I got code 2ABC and 3100 and it looks like it was caused by over boosting according to the logs. I have brand new TMAP sensor and MAP sensor on the charge pipe and intake manifold. I reflashed stage 1 mhd because I was concerned and did another WOT log and the code didn’t return. Would you suggest that it is a tuning issue alone?

It would appear so..often those codes appear with T Map sensor / tuning issues..why not post a log?

I’m no guru on these charts but that tune version looks pretty weird…

Who's the tuner? Also you don't need a custom tune with those mods. Not even FBO. Not worth the squeeze. Stick with OTS MHD, they're very well done.

The tuner is a guy a met off of the Facebook group “N54/N55 tuners”. He is on bootmod3 as a verified tuner. He goes by GAP tuning. I thought the tunes he provided me with were strange as well but I’m no tuner so who am I to judge. His tunes definitely have good timing figures but there are some things that are just off to me. I just flashed back to stage 1 mhd for the time being. Also just out of curiosity what would be the negatives of running stage 1+ with no upgraded FMIC? Just excessive heat soak? Or other issues?

Depends where you live / time of year…high ambient temperatures hurt the n54 hard..if you live where the ambient temps are in the range 30f-65f it won’t have that much effect ..also depends how often you drive hard..personally I’d think it would be ok this time of year but if you have 70f+ temps then get a decent FMIC fitted…FWIW IMHO

Random Facebook "tuner". Good God.
Yea I don’t feel good about that decision either but I made sure he was at least on bootmod3 but that probably doesn’t validate anything lol. I flashed mhd stage 1 for 91 oct instead of 93. I emailed mhd and they informed me to do that.

That’s good information and makes sense. I’m in PA so it’s full on winter time here and I don’t drive it hard often. Only if I get a good highway run but Thank you for that info. I flashed back mhd stage 1 for 91 oct until I get a proper FMIC for the stage 1+. Im curious if the log will be better now that im flashing for 91 instead of 93. Mhd recommended to do that via email in case of poor gas quality. Still will run 93 gas tho

I hear you about being listed on bm3, I'd have thought they'd have some kind of screening or credentialing before they'd list a tuner for their platform🤷‍♂️

I saw on the MHD log consistent timing corrections …MHD OTS tend to be fairly aggressive on timing so it’s not usual to see some on them…I’m sure any advice MHD gives is solid..

Given that and where you l wouldn’t panic about the FMIC…

I’ve had good experience with Wagner FWIW..not the cheapest..but..good

Got it. So I changed my boost solenoids and vacuum lines today and did another log and I am confused as to why load is dipping at the top and it seems as though its bringing boost and boost target down with it as well. Here is the log:

Almost all ‘proper’ tunes show a decline in boost target and actual boost as rpm climbs ..afaik

Stock turbos will not flow up top like upgrades variants. This is as designed to stay on the flow map of the turbos.
